The changing role of teachers?
This is the question that requires an answer from those who are stepping into the teaching profession in the future or those who are directly responsible for educational management. That's right, it's the teachers who must respond. To obtain an answer, we need to understand the mission and responsibilities of teachers. The experiences of successful teachers in the past have shown that the teacher's task is not just about transmitting knowledge and information using traditional methods. In today's advancing world, with modern technological tools and fast communication, teachers have developed and transformed the traditional methods of knowledge transfer to facilitate effective learning for students and keep up with the world. Various teaching aids such as videos, television, films, and, most importantly, computers challenge the abilities of teachers in using these tools.
Using technology for teaching and learning activities, especially for educators who lack knowledge and skills in using technology, may lead to misguided and unsuccessful outcomes, not achieving the intended goals as they should. If this is the case, it will not bring any benefits, but rather waste national resources. Managing education in the present requires adhering to the guidelines set forth in the National Education Act to maximize the benefits for learners. The influence of using technology for educational management and daily life cannot be denied.
The National Education Act serves as a guide or answer, stating that "advancements in science and technology greatly contribute to improving the quality of life. Technology has become an integral part of our lives, providing convenience in various aspects. It has improved the quality of housing, increased the production of goods and services to meet human needs, and made production more efficient, resulting in affordable and high-quality products. Technology has made communication easier, connecting people and allowing the population to receive news and information continuously."
Therefore, teachers need to develop their knowledge and skills in using technology. They must find ways to harness the benefits of technology in various work areas to enable students to learn from the surrounding elements related to technology. Currently, there are venues such as radio, television, computers, and various media that use satellite transmission to report live events. It is evident that technology plays a significant role in our lives. Daily life is closely linked to information and news. In today's society, there are no boundaries because the stories of one country can quickly spread to other countries. Telecommunication facilitates convenient communication, and applying it to household appliances, such as kitchen appliances, air conditioners, and home appliances, is a prime example.
Teaching and learning in schools involve the use of computers and supplementary tools to facilitate learning, such as videos, projectors, computer-assisted instruction, lesson planning, score calculation, and class data management. Technology is relevant to every aspect of our daily lives. These roles are becoming increasingly important. Therefore, modern teachers should learn and understand the use of technology to become an essential method in developing advanced teaching and learning activities and maximize benefits for learners.
This could be the answer to what teachers need to know and whether they efficiently use technology or not...

ครูต้องรู้อะไร…ทำอะไร…เรื่องอะไร…ที่ต้องใช้เทคโนโลยี?
บทบาทของครูที่ต้องเปลี่ยนแปลงไป?
นี่คือ…คำถามที่ต้องการคำตอบ…ของผู้ที่จะก้าวเข้าสู่อาชีพครูต่อไปในอนาคต หรือผู้ที่รับผิดชอบในการจัดการศึกษาโดยตรง ก็คือ ครู นั่นเองที่จะ ต้องตอบ เพื่อให้ได้คำตอบเราต้องรู้ภารกิจหน้าที่ของครู ประสบการณ์ของครูที่ประสบความสำเร็จในอดีต ซึ่งได้แสดงให้เห็นว่าภารกิจของครูไม่ใช่เป็นการถ่ายทอดความรู้และข้อมูลโดยใช้วิธีแบบดั้งเดิมอีกต่อไปแล้ว ปัจจุบันโลกเจริญก้าวหน้าไปอย่างไม่หยุดยั้ง ด้วยเครื่องมือทางเทคโนโลยีสมัยใหม่ การสื่อสารที่รวดเร็ว ครูได้พัฒนาเปลี่ยนแปลงปฏิรูปวิธีการถ่ายทอดความรู้เพื่อให้ผู้เรียนได้เกิดการเรียนรู้ ก้าวทันโลก โดยใช้เครื่องช่วยสอนต่างๆ เช่น วีดีทัศน์ โทรทัศน์ ภาพยนตร์ และที่สำคัญอย่างยิ่ง ก็คือ คอมพิวเตอร์ เป็นสิ่งที่ท้าทายความสามารถของครูในการใช้สิ่งดังกล่าว
การใช้เทคโนโลยีเพื่อการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนการสอนหากบุคลากร โดยเฉพาะ ครู ไม่มีความรู้ และทักษะในการใช้เทคโนโลยีบ้างแล้ว อาจจะก่อให้เกิดการใช้อย่างหลงทิศหลงทาง ไม่ประสบผลสำเร็จเป็นหรือไม่บรรลุตามจุดมุ่งหมายเท่าที่ควร หากเป็นเช่นนี้แล้วจะไม่ก่อให้เกิดประโยชน์ใดๆเลย แต่กลับทำให้ประเทศชาติสิ้นเปลืองงบประมาณอย่างใช่เหตุ การจัดการศึกษาในปัจจุบันจำเป็นต้องยึดแนวตามพระราชบัญญัติการศึกษาแห่งชาติ เพื่อให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดกับผู้เรียน การดำเนินการจัดการศึกษาทั้งในปัจจุบันและในอนาคต คงปฏิเสธไม่ได้ถึง อิทธิพลของการนำเอาเทคโนโลยีมาใช้เพื่อดำเนินจัดการศึกษา และในชีวิตประจำวัน
พระราชบัญญัติการศึกษาแห่งชาติจะเป็นเครื่องชี้ทางหรือให้คำตอบ พระราชบัญญัติการศึกษาแห่งชาติกล่าวว่า "ความก้าวหน้าทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี ทำให้มีการพัฒนาคิดค้นสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกสบายต่อการดำรงชีวิตเป็นอันมาก เทคโนโลยีได้เข้ามาเสริมปัจจัยพื้นฐานการดำรงชีวิตได้เป็นอย่างดี เทคโนโลยีทำให้การสร้างที่พักอาศัยมีคุณภาพมาตรฐาน สามารถผลิตสินค้าและให้บริการต่าง ๆ เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการของมนุษย์มากขึ้น เทคโนโลยีทำให้ระบบการผลิตสามารถผลิตสินค้าได้เป็นจำนวนมากมีราคาถูกลง สินค้าได้คุณภาพ เทคโนโลยีทำให้มีการติดต่อสื่อสารกันได้สะดวก การเดินทางเชื่อมโยงถึงกันทำให้ประชากรในโลกติดต่อรับฟังข่าวสารกันได้ตลอดเวลา"
ฉะนั้น ครูจำเป็นต้องพัฒนาตนเองด้านความรู้ความสามารถในการใช้เทคโนโลยี ครูต้องหาทางนำประโยชน์ ของเทคโนโลยีเข้ามาช่วยงานด้านต่าง ๆ เพื่อให้นักเรียนได้เรียนรู้กับสิ่งรอบ ๆ ตัว ที่เกี่ยวกับการใช้เทคโนโลยี ปัจจุบันมีสถานที่วิทยุ โทรทัศน์ คอมพิวเตอร์ และสื่อต่าง ๆ มีการแพร่ภาพทางโทรทัศน์ผ่านดาวเทียมเพื่อรายงานเหตุการณ์สด เห็นได้ชัดว่าเทคโนโลยีได้เข้ามามีบทบาทในชีวิตอย่างมาก ชีวิตความเป็นอยู่เกี่ยวข้องกับข้อมูลข่าวสารตลอดเวลา สังคมในปัจจุบันเป็นสังคมไร้พรมแดน เพราะเรื่องราวของประเทศหนึ่งสามารถกระจายแพร่ออกไปยังประเทศต่าง ๆ ได้อย่างรวดเร็ว การสื่อสารโทรคมนาคม เพื่อติดต่อสื่อสารที่สะดวกขึ้น การนำไปประยุกต์มาใช้กับเครื่องอำนวยความสะดวกภายในบ้าน เช่น เครื่องประกอบอาหาร เครื่องปรับอากาศ เครื่องใช้ภายในบ้าน เป็นต้น
การเรียนการสอนในโรงเรียนมีการนำคอมพิวเตอร์และเครื่องมือประกอบช่วยในการเรียนรู้ เช่น วีดีทัศน์ เครื่องฉายภาพ คอมพิวเตอร์ช่วยสอน จัดตารางสอน คำนวณระดับคะแนน จัดทำข้อมูลชั้นเรียน เป็นต้น เทคโนโลยีมีผลเกี่ยวข้องกับทุกเรื่องในชีวิตประจำวัน บทบาทเหล่านี้มีแนวโน้มทีสำคัญมากยิ่งขึ้น ด้วยเหตุนี้ ครูยุคใหม่ จึงควรเรียนรู้ และ เข้าใจเกี่ยวกับการใช้เทคโนโลยี เพื่อจะได้เป็นวิธีการสำคัญในการใช้เทคโนโลยีเพื่อพัฒนาการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนการสอนให้ก้าวหน้าและเกิดประโยชน์ต่อผู้เรียนอย่างสูงสุดต่อไป
นี่คงจะเป็นคำตอบได้ว่าครูต้องรู้อะไรและใช้เทคโนโลยีอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพหรือไม่…
